PEARL JAM FANS HOST PRE-CONCERT FUNDRAISERS TO SUPPORT DOUBLE-HEADER CONCERTS AT FENWAY PARK & WRIGLEY FIELD
CHICAGO, IL – 05/17/2016 – Wishlist Foundation, a fan-run grassroots nonprofit organization that raises money for nonprofits that the band Pearl Jam supports, is hosting fundraisers prior to each of the band’s double-header baseball stadium concerts at Fenway Park and Wrigley Field. The fan-run fundraisers will benefit Pearl Jam’s own Vitalogy Foundation and its spotlight charities; organizations important to each band member.
Pearl Jam is widely known for their passionate and dedicated fan base. The fan-run Wishlist Foundation fundraisers draw thousands of people from all over the world as the premier destination spot for fan gatherings before Pearl Jam concerts.
“I think our fans are very proactive in terms of fundraising for events before our shows. Wishlist Foundation…a really cool organization…organizes pre-concert events to raise money for nonprofits supported by our band. They do it of their own volition and they take care of each other & their communities. It always blows me away,” states Mike McCready, lead guitarist of Pearl Jam.
Since its inception in 2004, the fan-run Wishlist Foundation has raised over $900,000 for charitable organizations in the fields of health and chronic illness, environmental causes, arts and education and social change.
Pearl Jam just completed their spring tour that began in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on April 8th, and wrapped up on May 12th in Toronto, ON. Wishlist Foundation held fundraisers prior to each of the concerts on the spring tour, raising over $100,000 in cash and in-kind donations.
Attendees of the fan-run Wishlist fundraisers can donate to receive t-shirts, buttons and accessories. Fans can also enter a raffle at these events for a chance to win fan-donated band collectibles. Silent & live auctions will feature donated autographed Pearl Jam posters & other rare memorabilia. All proceeds from the raffles and auctions will benefit Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy Foundation as well as local charities selected by the organizer of each event.
